I was the Art Director for Monster Jam Steel Titans 2 which shipped March 2, 2021 at Rainbow Studios. The production timeline was from 2019 and 2020. I directed a studio art team consisting of 22 artists & outsource art across all disciplines on two concurrent developed console/PC titles while providing guidance, training and constructive feedback. My responsibilities included the following.
• Organize meetings and production schedules while staying adaptable to needs of the team and project changes
• Identify production pipeline needs and develop improved efficiencies by identifying new tools, software and processes
• Completed performance reviews, recommended promotions and set goals and career growth for artists
• Coordinated with other studio leads to facilitate knowledge sharing and use of new industry production techniques
As I find time, I will create a page dedicating explanations to each area of the art production process that I made decisions on along with credit to the artists that completed the work. Think of it as an unofficial art blast.
I will break it down into the following categories for topics
• Concept Art
• UI/UX & Graphics Art
• Monster Trucks & Drivers (Vehicles & Characters) 38 trucks total!
• Environments (5 Outdoor Worlds!)
• Environments (Stadiums and Arenas) including Orlando World Finals!
• Props and Points of Interest (lots of Goodies!)
• VFX and Destruction (so much destruction and VFX in this game!)
• Lighting and Technical Art (So many different lighting scenarios)
• Animation and Intro Cinematics (epic feels!)
For now here are some screenshots from THQ Nordic's Media page. I have also included videos from the Announce and Release trailers.
